Amazingly Good Eggnog
This eggnog recipe is the best and creamiest homemade eggnog thickened with tempered eggs and flavored with rum, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, and cloves.
On the lowest heat setting, combine milk, cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, and cloves; stir and heat for 5 minutes.
Heat up to a medium-low setting and gradually bring to a boil.
Get rid of the heat.
In a sizable bowl, whisk egg yolks until they are light yellow in hue.
Whisk until fluffy after adding sugar.
To avoid scrambling the eggs, quickly whisk some of the hot milk mixture into the egg yolk mixture.
Up until all the milk is incorporated, keep adding hot milk and whisking to combine.
Refill the saucepan with the mixture.
Stirring continuously, cook for about 3 minutes over medium heat until thick; do not allow the mixture to boil.
Remove cloves with a strainer and allow to cool for about an hour.
