This is the best sausage gravy recipe. Pour over hot biscuits to make the best biscuits and gravy for a rich and hearty breakfast to enjoy at home.
To cook the sausage, use a big, deep skillet.
Over medium-high heat, cook and crumble until evenly browned.
With a slotted spoon, remove the sausage, leaving the drippings in the pan.
until it melts, stir butter into the pan.
Stir in the flour until smooth.
Cook at medium-low heat until light brown.
Add milk gradually while whisking, then cook until thickened.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
