Butter and flour a 9×9-inch pan.

In a medium bowl, combine sugar and butter and beat until creamy.

Add the eggs one at a time and mix in the vanilla and almond extracts.

In another bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt.

Mix well after adding to the creamed mixture.

Mixture should be smooth after adding milk.

Batter should be poured or spooned into the prepared pan.
