Whiskey-Glazed Ham
This juicy ham is studded with whole cloves and glazed in a whiskey-based mixture, resulting in a flavorful main dish for entertaining during the holidays.
On a ham, make horizontal and vertical cross-slashes to cut through the fat but not the meat.
Place whole cloves as deeply as possible where slashes meet.
Set the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit (150 degrees C).
A big, heavy baking sheet should be lined with aluminum foil.
Whiskey is heated in a pan over medium heat.
Cook for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the liquid is reduced by 1/3, to boil off some of the alcohol’s flavor.
Increase heat to medium-low, add butter, and stir for 2 to 3 minutes, until melted.
Add honey and brown sugar and stir for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, or until the mixture resembles sauce.
Place the ham on the prepared pan after glazing it.
Add additional foil to the entire pan.
