Boiled Cabbage with Bacon
Slow-simmered cabbage and bacon makes a delicious and easy side dish for any meal. Plan ahead, it takes hours to simmer.
bring the bacon, cabbage Bring 2 cups of water and 2 tablespoons of vinegar to a boil in a big pot over medium-high heat.
Reduce heat to low and simmer cabbage, uncovered, for about 3 hours, adding additional water as necessary.
Add remaining 1/4 cup water and 1/4 cup of flour to the cabbage mixture gradually after stirring them together in a small bowl.
About 5 more minutes of simmering should thicken the mixture.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
