This is a traditional Portuguese dish that brings back memories of mom. It is not only tasty but it is always a hit at parties. Plan ahead, because the salted cod needs to soak for 24 hours.

For 24 hours, soak the dried salted cod in cold water, changing the water frequently.

Bring water in a big pot to a boil.

When the fish flakes easily with a fork, add the cod that has been soaked for about five minutes.

Cod should be removed from the water and the water saved for cooking potatoes.

Cod should have its skin and bones removed before the meat is flaked with a fork.

Make room for the fish in a big bowl.

Stir the olive oil and vinegar in a small bowl.

a single garlic clove 1 tablespoon each of black pepper, red pepper flakes, and parsley.

Pour over the fish, then lightly coat with it.
