Oklahoma Cheese Grits
When my mom serves up this regional delicacy, it’s a great day! Seasonings, cheese, and eggs are added to cooked grits, which are then baked. Depending on your preferences, you can change or omit the hot sauce.
Set oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees C).
Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish very lightly.
Bring the water to a rolling boil in a medium saucepan.
Add the grits, then turn the heat down to low.
Cook for 5 to 6 minutes with the lid on, stirring occasionally.
Add the Worcestershire sauce, salt, hot pepper sauce, and butter cheese seasoning.
Cook for an additional five minutes, or until the cheese has melted.
Turn off the heat, let it cool slightly, then fold the eggs in.
Fill the baking dish with the liquid.
Bake for one hour, or until the top is lightly browned, in the preheated oven.
